A Language Built in Layers.
Life accumulates over time - a place, a person, a season, an ordinary Tuesday you’d give anything to revisit. Some experiences barely register in the moment; others change everything.
My work is built the same way—slowly accumulating color, texture and form. The raised clusters give those experiences a place to land. One beside another, they become a visual record of a life lived—not perfectly or predictably, but fully.
Before the clusters there was a story.
The Story Behind the Work -
Long before the clusters appeared on canvas, I learned how much life can change in a single moment. One of our twins, Hayes, was born with a critical illness. His first year was spent between surgeries, hospital rooms and home—learning to live with fear and hope, heartbreak and gratitude often occupying the same space.
Years later, questioning where my work would go, I wanted to create something meaningful yet beautiful. Then came a clear vision—the clusters. Hard moments held within calm, much like the life we had lived. What began as a way of making sense of my own story became a language for something much bigger: the experiences we all carry with us.
